Technical Data

1m³ capacity fully road speed related, wheel driven, towed ‘drop’ salt spreader with rear road lights, 12 ply tyres and drawbar with 50mm eye. Salt is forced out of the hopper using the Epoke Metering Principal which ensures and accurate and even spread even with wet lumpy salt. The spread rate is easily adjusted by changing the tension of the spring base via a handle on the back of the spreader.

The spreader is designed to be close coupled behind tipping lorries so that the hopper can be replenished during the spread route from the body of the tipper vehicle (assuming the bed height is sufficient). The spreader can be towed by other vehicles, e.g. agricultural tractors, distribution tractors & Land Rovers etc, but you would require the optional extension drawbar so that the spreader does not ‘foul’ the towing vehicle when going round corners.

Thesespreaders have proved very popular for keeping factory sites,car parks, distribution depots, universities and hospital sites open and safe during icy weather. They are also very popular with Councils who often use them as ‘back up’ spreaders which they tow behind lorries fitted with snowploughs in snow conditions. (In these situations it ideal to spread a nice even pattern across the width of the lorry.)
