There are two models in the range (S4400 and the S4402) and these both use exactly the same unique Epoke unloaded belt metering principal used by the standard ‘Sirius’ and ‘AST’ spreaders but they have the additional advantage that as well as being able to spread dry salt and pre-wetted salt in the conventional way they can also apply pure brine. The two models differ in the way they apply the brine.

Brine has the advantages:-

Bunce Epoke S4400 - These units use a specially adapted spinner disc to apply the pure brine. The spinner is in two parts, the top half is like a conventional spreader disc and this applies the dry salt, the brine is spread using a series of tubes fitted to the underside of the disc. The brine is introduced into a central manifold and the centrifugal forces spine the brine out down the tubes. This enables the brine to be spread in a very controlled way. The maximum practical width for the brine would be 8m and can be applied at speeds of upto 50km/hr (Approx 31mph).

Bunce Epoke S4402 - These units use a spinner disc used for applying the dry salt which is the same as used in the conventional Bunce Epoke’s spreaders. These units use a special separate spray bar, fitted with special nozzles to apply the pure brine, the spray bar does not extend beyond the width of the vehicle. This enables the brine to be spread in a very controlled way and it can spray up to 11m in 1m steps and at speeds of up to 90km/hr (Approx 56mph).
