The Bunce M81 sweeper/snowplough combination unit can be changed from sweeper to plough and vice versa in seconds and this feature has appealed particularly to our airport customers.

The brush unit is powered hydraulically from a separate pump driven from the rear PTO shaft of the vehicle. The pump and hydraulic tank are normally mounted on the rear 3 point linkage of the carrying vehicle. The raising, lowering and angling of the unit are carried out from the cab using the tractors own hydraulic system, which the driver will be familiar with, making them easy to operate.

The unit is angled using two rams which are controlled from the cab of the vehicle.

The M81 has a unique air over hydraulic self levelling brush core system which allows the brush to press onto the road with a predetermined pressure at both ends of the brush and which maintains an even sweeping pressure along its entire length. This allows it to follow the contours of the road and reduces the ‘coning effect’ where the brushes do not wear evenly along their entire length.

The rubber blocks at the bottom of the snowplough blade are able to spring back in replaceable 2 ft sections to reduce the risk of damage to the unit, or the obstacle being struck.
