products Optional Extras For Snowploughs Squeegees: We offer three different types which help to clear slush: Bunce - A one piece rubber (127 x 12mm x blade length) which bolts in front of the wearing edge using 3 bolts. Height adjusted by sliding up & down slotted ‘bolt holes’. MOT - ( 610 x 203 x 25mm.) These bolt onto drilled full size replaceable 610mm high carbon steel wearing edges. Each section has height adjustment using holes in the rubber and wearing edge. This means if the blade wears unevenly e.g. due to road camber, individual sections only need to be adjusted/replaced, not the whole squeegee. Heavy Duty - (254 x 152 x 50mm) These fit in place of the sprung wearing edge and are required e.g. In oil refineries where it is essential that no sparks are produced. Wearing Edges: We offer two types: High Yield Steel: The wearing edges we include with our standard plough are made in 610mm sections which are sprung so they retract if a raised obstacle, e.g. drain covers, is hit. Made from specially treated high carbon steel, they have excellent wear properties and are much better than the mild steel used by some other companies. We can also fit different types of rubber squeegee blades in front of the wearing edges but, please note, when we supply blades fitted with squeegees (except for the 2” thick heavy duty squeegee) we still fit our full sized high carbon steel wearing edges behind the squeegee so the blade can be used with, or without the squeegee. (some of our competitors do not fit normal wearing edges when squeegees are fitted). Polyurethane Wearing Edges: (610 x 127 x 25mm). These are not sprung but the resilient material can absorbs energy of small impacts can also acts like a squeegee. Curved Removeable Snow Deflector: Made of polymer on a steel frame this helps prevent snow coming over the top onto the windscreen. This is easily removable. (Included as standard with SnoPro B ploughs) Side Markers: Flexible red poles at each blade end helps the driver see the end of the blade reducing risk of striking curbs etc. Snowplough Stands: We offer three types: 1. The DIN plate ploughs are fitted with removable plough stands as standard. The plough stands can be carried with the plough to enable the plough to be demounted at other depots. 2. Snowplough trolley with two front, fully castoring wheels (same as used on the Bunce standard duty snowploughs) and two rear wheels (not castoring). This allows the complete plough assembly to be manoeuvred around a fairly level yard easily. The plough can be left fully assembled for storage on the trolley which helps reduce the likelihood of pins etc., going missing. 3. Snowplough stand/trolley, with the benefits of ‘2’ above, but is in two parts each with two castors, one of which is braked and mounts onto each end of the blade in the same way as the snowplough stands in ‘1’ above but they cannot be carried with the vehicle. Snowplough Lights: Mounted on stems on the WM1A/WM1B frame to supplement the standard headlights, which may be obscured by the plough, so the driver can see and be seen. Snowplough Frame Safety Guard: To cover protruding lugs on the WM1A and WM1B frames. The issue of covering the protrusions on the frames is a grey area, however, we would now recommend that these are covered to comply with construction and use regulations if the frames are left mounted on the vehicles when the ploughs are not mounted. Castor Options: We offer at least six different options: 1. As standard we fit 8” (200mm) solid rubber castor wheels which fully castor. We have supplied and fitted these for many years, however, as they are only a fairly small wheel travelling at speed they often need to be replaced regularly. 2. Twin castors, to the same specification as in 1 above. (Included as standard with SnoPro B ploughs) 3. MOT castors. Extra heavy duty 10” (250mm) solid rubber castors with nylon mounting brackets. These are fully castoring. Customers who use these find that they last much longer than the standard 8” castors. Fitted as Standard on the SnoPro PR Runway SnowPlough 4.Twin MOT castors, to the same specification as in 3 above. 5.16” pneumatic castors. The manufacturer of the hubs gives a speed rating of 100km/hr for these wheels. These wheels do not fully castor but they allow enough turning for all operations when driving forward. The plough would need to be raised when reversing to avoid damage to the wheel. We can provide an automatic system to raise the snowplough when reverse is engaged to reduce the likelihood of damage to wheel. These wheels have a much larger bearing in the hub than the conventional 8” wheels and would be turning much more slowly for any given vehicle speed and so should have a greatly extended life. They should be better able to cope with faster snowploughing speeds. Fitted with integral screw jack to adjust height. 6. 16” pneumatic castors – foam filled: To the same specification as 5 above but foam filled to reduce the inconvenience caused by punctures. However, when this is done, the manufacturer removes all speed ratings. Automatic Lifting Device (only available if electro hydraulic power pack option is chosen or when working off the Bunce Epoke gritter hydraulics). This automatically raises the snowplough when in reverse, thus reducing risk of damage to the optional pneumatic castors. WM1A/ WM1B Frame Mounting Systems: As standard we supply our SnoPro, Runway and Vee ploughs with a WM1A or WM1B subframe. Usually, WM1A frames would be used with vehicles up to and including 18 ton GVW and WM1B mounting frames for vehicles over 18 ton GVW. Our WM1A and WM1B frames are made from 'channel' section which we believe to be much stronger than the 'angle' section used by many of our competitors. DIN Plate Mounting System: Print/Save/Download Product Sheet (PDF) This uses the German ‘DIN’ 76060A standard flat mounting plate which is widely used throughout Europe. The ‘EasyFit’ plate, which is attached to the din plate, reproduces the fixing points of the widely used WM1A and or WM1B fittings. This ensures that this system can be used with any of the thousands of standard duty or heavy duty steel or polymer blades produced by Bunce (Ashbury) Limited over the last 30 years. The procedure for mounting and demounting the snowplough is simple and can be carried out by one man using absolute minimal physical effort. With the DIN plate system, the mounting and demounting is controlled by an additional handset, plugged in outside the vehicle. In the cab there would be controls to raise the snowplough (powered), lower the snowplough under gravity and a float position. The reason we have this additional external handset is to prevent the driver from inadvertently powering the blade down when the vehicle is in motion and the plough is attached which could cause the front wheels of the lorry to rise up and possibly adversely effect the steering. With the DIN plate system, when the snowplough is removed there is only a flat plate on the front of the vehicle with no protrusions. The snowplough is supported by its own stands, to keep the snowplough assembly assembled all the time, which means that it is less likely that fixing pins and rams etc., ‘go missing’ during the summer. The plough stands can be carried with the plough to enable the plough to be demounted at other depots. Please note, the EasyFit plate re-produces the same 6 point fixing as on the WM1A frame so existing Bunce snowploughs can be used with either our EasyFit plate or our WM1A frame. Even when we supply the EasyFit plate to mate with DIN plates, the EasyFit plate is strengthened with channel sections where the lugs for the WM1A or WM1B type fixing points are attached. ANGLING OF SNOWPLOUGH The Ploughs can be easily manually angled as standard by simply removing the adjustable stabilizer bar and repositioning them so the plough is angled to the right or left. The snowplough can also be hydraulically angled using two angling rams, either powered from an hydraulic power pack, wiring loom, joystick control and Connectors, or where available, from the tractor hydraulics (the tractor must have 2 spools, one double acting and one double acting with float) BRACKETS We can manufacture snowplough brackets to suit all suitable vehicles that are readily available in the UK for us to measure, otherwise some overseas customers would need to have brackets fabricated locally to them. SnoPro Link This is a new low cost system to mount Bunce Snowploughs onto tractors fitted with front three point linkage. This system does away with the need to manufacture bespoke brackets for each model of tractor so removes the costs involved when transferring the snowploughs onto different tractors |
