Why buy?

Epoke offer several ranges of bulk spreader suitable for use on vehicles from small pick-ups with approx. 1.5 tonne payload up to large 32 tonne chassis. The ‘Igloo’ is a simple low cost range of spreaders using a loaded belt metering principal. The ‘Salt 1’ range uses the more accurate screw auger metering system and the ‘Sirius’/’AST’ & ‘Sirius Combi’ are, we believe, the most accurate spreaders available on the UK market which utilise the unique Epoke ‘unloaded belt’ metering principal. No other system utilises a belt which does not carry the static load of material in the hopper.

The Epoke ‘Unloaded belt’ metering system

Epoke Sirius/ AST and Sirius Combi Salt spreaders use, what was originally, their patented system for metering salt. This system includes a rubber base (3) with spring fingers (4) which press's the rubber against a metering roller (2) fitted with cams. Every time the roller rotates the cams bring out the same amount of material. Above the metering roller inside the hopper there is a full length agitator shaft (1) to break up any lumps in the material and keep it free flowing. The metered salt drops onto the otherwise ‘unloaded belt’ (5) which then conveys the metered amount of salt to the spinner disc. The second rubber (6) wipes the metering roller clean before it re-enters the hopper to repeat the process

This accurate metering system results in salt savings and therefore money and environmental savings too. We believe the system to be the most accurate available and indeed some of our customers have testified to salt savings of over 20-30% when compared to using competitors units.

All Epoke salt spreaders are given a high quality, long lasting paint treatment. They are shot blasted to SA 2.5, zinc dust primer/undercoat then top coated with two-pack paint, stove enamelled and oven dried to 70^oC between each stage.
